In the autumn, Green Eyes chases leaves as if they were mice, and when winter comes, he watches snowflakes fall from the cozy comfort of his box, close to the warm radiator.It is a simple story. It is cute and comforting. I felt that it went on a bit too long at the end. The illustrations make it clear why it won the Caldecott honor. They are very good, and fit the story perfectly.
